“Take your neighbor's hand” — that's how it starts, and how it's always started. Contra dance is one of New England's oldest and most beloved traditions, the same lively, communal form of dance your Wilton ancestors would have known in taverns and town halls across the colonies.
And this May, as the sun sets over Main Street Park, you'll dance it the way it was always meant to be — outdoors, under a tent, with your neighbors, on a warm spring evening. Two lines, a caller, and neighbors moving together in time. No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm, and the caller will take care of the rest.
