At 100 years old, Les Tallarico holds one of Wilton's most storied honors — the Boston Post Cane, presented to the town's oldest resident. The tradition dates to 1909, when the Boston Post newspaper gifted gold-headed ebony canes to towns across New England, each to be passed from eldest citizen to eldest citizen through the generations. Les has carried Wilton's cane since 2019, becoming the 26th person to hold this living link to the town's past.
